The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced 11% progress for the Hospital del Sur public-private partnership (PPP) project in Itapúa, Paraguay.
The project includes work on coffered slabs, beams, pillars, stairs, masonry, insulation and sanitary facilities such as sewers and storm pipes and electrical installations for medium voltage power supply. The 51,525 sq. m is under construction, of which 39,355 sq. m correspond to the main hospital building. The hospital plans to create 266 beds for inpatients and intensive care units, as well as 111 beds for an emergency, operating rooms, gynecology and obstetrics. Additional works include car parks, a heliport, a wastewater treatment plant, an oxygen plant and support and supply areas.
The work is carried out by a consortium comprising Sociedad Constructora Chaco SA, Barrail Hermanos SA de Construcciones, EISA and Ricardo Díaz Martinez with a delivery time of 24 months. The project is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the amount of PYG209.99 billion (U$29.39 million).
