The Ministry of Public Works and Communications has announced that 70% of the construction works for the Heroes del Chaco bridge in Paraguay were completed by the beginning of September.
The project involves the development of a 600 m cable-stayed bridge over the Paraguay river connecting Asunción and Chaco’i. It also consists of a road over 7 km long, including 1,500 m of viaducts and access roads connecting Costanera Norte de Asunción to the roundabout on the route between Falcón and Remanso. The Bridge is a four-lane structure with a walkway and bike path over 30 m wide.
The allied consortium of the Paraguayan companies CDD Construcciones and Constructora Heisecke is responsible for the development of the project. The bridge PPP project completed the assembly of vehicles that will be used to build a link across the Paraguay River. The remaining 30% of the work is the preparation and construction of the main structure that will link Asunción with the Western Region and is expected to be completed soon.
