CityFibre has started the construction phase of their GBP15 million (US$18 million) project to roll out a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network to reach homes and businesses in the Norfolk seaside town of Great Yarmouth, UK.
Civil engineering contractor Pod-Trak is currently undertaking the initial street works in the Southtown and Cobham areas. CityFibre aims to bring improved connectivity to approximately 8 million premises across over 285 locations throughout the UK. By upgrading the infrastructure, this initiative will enable homes and businesses in the town to flourish in the digital era, granting them access to high-speed and dependable internet services.
Upon the activation of the new network in Great Yarmouth, customers will have the opportunity to utilize full fibre-enabled services through a range of providers. These include Vodafone, CityFibre's UK launch partner, who will offer their services on selected Vodafone Pro Broadband plans, as well as TalkTalk, Zen, Giganet, and IDNet.
