Capstone Development Partners and Harrison Street have announced the development of a mixed-use on-campus student housing Public-Private-Partnership project at the University of Washington Bothell, USA.
The project involves the redevelopment and replacement of its existing Husky Village student housing. useful life. Through a competitive RFP process, the Capstone-Harrison Street team was selected by the University of Washington as its partner and is transforming the 4.4-acre site into a new mixed-use complex and new gateway entrance. The new 300,000-square-foot student housing community will offer 1,055 beds across three, six-story residential buildings for undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, the new development will include a 15,000-square-foot dining facility and 20,000 square feet of office space.
The construction works have already commenced in October 2021. The project will be constructed in two distinct phases, with phase 1 scheduled to open in February 2023 and phase 2 in August 2024. The designer of the project is Mahlum Architects and is being constructed by Andersen Construction. Capstone Management Partners will operate and manage the project.
