The Regional Government of Ancash has prioritized the project for the construction of the New Víctor Ramos Guardia de Huaraz Hospital, promoted under the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism, with technical assistance from PROINVERSIÓN in Peru.
The Áncash Regional Council has approved, with a majority vote, the prioritization of an initiative that involves an investment exceeding PEN 1,000 million (US$ 275 million). This hospital center aims to introduce improved services for the benefit of users, including hemodialysis, chemotherapy, chemotherapy center, and blood bank facilities, along with diagnostic imaging, obstetric and surgical centers, among other services. The pre-investment study for this project was conducted by the Antamina Mining Company as part of a private initiative presented under the OxI framework.
The project includes enhancing various healthcare services, including external consultation, emergency care, hospitalization, intensive care, imaging diagnostics, obstetric center, surgical center, hemodialysis, and chemotherapy. It aims to benefit over 600 million people in the area of influence, comprising four health networks: Red Huaylas Norte, Huaylas Sur, Conchucos Norte, and Conchucos Sur, and the Ancash Department.
