Terminal Cuenca del Plata (TCP) has awarded the development contract for Cuenca del Plata terminal at Montevideo Port, Uruguay to consortium of Jan de Nul, Mota-Engil and Stiler. TCP, a joint venture between Katoen Natie (80%) and the National Ports Administration of Uruguay (20%), is responsible for the expansion of the terminal.
The selected contractors will be in charge of the development of extension infrastructure at the terminal and build a new dock capable of receiving a container ship up to a depth of 14 m. The construction works are expected to generate approximately 1,000 direct as well as 5,000 indirect jobs.
The construction works for all berths are scheduled to be finished in 2025 while the first berth is expected to be operational by 2024.
Ferrocarril Central project´s financial advisor Astris Finance has announced the closing and first disbursement of the US$ 860 million senior debt package. The project was sponsored by Sacyr (Spain), NGE (France), SACEEM (Uruguay) and Berkes (Uruguay). Astris acted as exclusive financial advisor to the Sponsors from bid stage to first disbursement.

The Grupo Vía Central consortium, led by Sacyr Concessions, has closed a senior loan of up to USD 855 million to finance the construction of the 273 km of the railway that will link the country's capital, Montevideo with Paso de los Toros. The investment that the project will require amounts to USD 1,070 million.

Grupo Aldesa has announced that it has been chosen as the successful bidder to design, construct, operate and finance approximately 184km of road in Uruguay that will cross the departments of Rocha, Florida and Lavalleja, located in the south of the country. The 20-year concession contract is valued at EUR323.5 million (US$368.5 million).
