The Special Commission for the tender of Maracana stadium concession has announced that Consórcio Maracanã S/A, formed by Odebrecht, IMX and AEG wins the Maracana Stadium Concession.

The Special Commission for the tender of Maracana stadium concession opened on 16 April 2013 the technical and economic proposals submitted by two consortia.

The Consórcio Maracanã S/A, formed by Odebrecht, IMX and AEG, proposed an annual payment of R$ 5,5 millions, in 33 payments (R$ 181,5 milllions in total). The consórcio Complexo Esportivo e Cultural do Rio, formed by Construtora OAS, Stadion Amsterdam N.V. and Lagardère Unlimited, offered R$ 4,7 millions per year (in 33 years R$ 155,1 millions).

Finally, the Consórcio Maracanã S/A has been selected.

The state of Rio de Janeiro published the tender for the PPP of Maracana stadium in February 2013. The deadline for the submission of bids was April 11th, 2013.

The project is an administrative concession for the management, operation and maintenance of the stadium Mario Filho (Maracana) and Gilberto Cardoso Gym (Maracanãzinho). The period of the contract is 35 years.
