On Feb. 26th the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has published a Request for Expressions of Interest for transaction advisors to structure the Central African Backbone (CAB-5) project as a Public private partnership.
The Government of the DRC has requested funding from the World Bank, plans to use part of that funding to finance this advisor contract.
The contract involves technical assistance to the Government of the DRC to define and implement one (or more) PPP structure, and help the Government to seek an international operator for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Central African Backbone (CAB-5) project.
Interested companies must submit their Expressions of Interest on or before March 12, 2014.
The Central African Backbone (CAB-5) project aims to build a National network to connect the economic centers of Kinshasa, Lubumbashi and Goma and a regional network to connect the DRC and the 9 neighboring countries.
