The Marco Zero Consortium, formed by the companies Equatorial Participações SA and SAM Ambiental e Engenharia, signed the concession contract for sanitation in the state of Amapá.

For the first six months starting from January 4th 2022, the consortium will carry out the operation of the sanitation project and then it fully assumes the concession, where it will have the mission of universalizing the supply of treated water and the sewage network for the next 35 years.

The Marco Zero Consortium won the auction in September. The consortium offered the highest value for the concession- BRL930 million (US$179 million), in addition to providing a 20% discount on the water tariff for users and another BRL3 billion (USD530.5 million) in infrastructure investments.

The project is expected to provide piped water to 285,000 consumer units and sewage collection to 328,000 units and to improve water and sanitation services for urban areas in all 16 municipalities of Amapá.
