A private investment promotion agency (Proinversión), Peru has announced that the Ministry of Energy & Mines has signed concession contracts with the company Transmisora Ica - Poroma SAC for electrical projects Ica to Poroma transmission line and Cáclic to Jaén Norte transmission line.
The two projects have been awarded to Transmisora Ica - Poroma SAC that was established by ACCIONA CONCESIONES SL. The company has proposed a total investment cost of US$73.14 million for both projects and a total annual operating and maintenance cost of US$3.98 million. The aim of the projects is to have a system of uninterrupted transmission of electricity from generation centers to consumption centers at a lower cost. This will enable the development of new enterprises and the strengthening of industrial, commercial and tourism activities, which will improve the quality of life of 370,000 people in the three departments namely Ica, Amazon and Cajamarca.
Ica to Poroma transmission line project involves the development of a 220 kV capacity transmission line connecting Ica to Poroma. Cáclic to Jaén Norte transmission line project involves the development of a two-circuit 220 kV capacity transmission line connecting Cáclic and Jaén Norte in Peru.
