The Ministry of Public Works of Chile has awarded the concession for the Second Santiago-San Antonio Highway Concession, Route 78 and the Los Ríos-Los Lagos Hospital Network.
The new Route 78 concession was awarded to Sacyr Concesiones Chile SpA and contemplates an investment of UF21,287,000 (USD892 million), while the Los Ríos-Los Lagos Network awarded to Constructora y Edificadora GIA+A SA de CV with an investment of UF7,092,812 (USD297 million).
The concession of Route 78 includes improving the technical standards and service levels as well as extension of 131.4 km long Ruta 78 highway connecting Santiago and San Antonio. It is estimated that the Second Concession of Route 78 could start works, in the section linked to the Port of San Antonio, during the second half of 2023
The Los Ríos-Los Lagos Hospital Network will provide a total of 495 beds and will have a total area of 153,000 m2, which will benefit an estimated population of 290,000 people. The construction works for the project will begin in the first quarter of 2023 and start operations during the first quarter of 2026.
