The Department of Transportation (DOTr), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), and Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC) have officially sealed their partnership for the development and operation of the Laguindingan International Airport project in the Philippines.
The project aims to support the Government’s thrust to promote regional economic development, and to contribute to unlocking tourism potential. It also integrates the new concepts of ‘Green’ Airports and ‘Connected’ Airports into the airport's design, operations, and maintenance by operating efficiently and sustainably while minimizing undesirable environmental impacts, and by using digital technologies to enhance the passenger experience and improve system efficiency.
The project is the third national PPP project to be awarded and signed following the enactment of Republic Act No. 11966 or the PPP Code of the Philippines in December 2023.
