CMS strengthens planning/infra team with new appointment

Law firm CMS has appointed Robin Hutchison as a partner in London in its growing planning/consenting/infrastructure team with effect from 5 January 2015, Robin joins CMS from Pinsent Masons.

He has a particular focus on consenting UK energy and infrastructure projects, including Development Consent Orders, and has acted on some of the UK's most significant energy projects. In addition to this sector specialism, Robin's broad practice includes development planning, compulsory purchase, environmental law and contentious matters.

Robin spent a significant part of his career at Dundas & Wilson which merged with CMS in May of last year.

Commenting on the appointment, Robert Lane, Head of Regulated Industries, said:

"Robin joins a busy and expanding team. With infrastructure spending anticipated to be in the region of over £100 billion in the coming period, we are pleased to be able to add this further depth to our infrastructure and wider planning practice, which Robin's appointment will bring".
