Clean Power Finance hires Managing Director of Renewable Capital Markets

Clean Power Finance (CPF), a US-based financial services and software provider for the residential solar industry, announced last week the appointment of David Peterson as managing director on its renewable capital markets team. David will work with utilities and financial investors, as well as the public sector, to bring additional residential solar finance products to the CPF Market.

Kristian Hanelt, SVP of renewable capital markets at CPF, said:

"David is a seasoned project financier with extensive infrastructure advisory and investment experience. He brings a diverse set of perspectives to our team, and his track record of "first in market" financings will help CPF continue to innovate."

Over the course of his career, David has negotiated and closed more than $15 billion in finance facilities. He has significant experience with complex and often unprecedented transactions in a range of infrastructure sectors, including conventional and renewable power, transportation, water and health. Prior to joining CPF, David was with Ernst & Young, where he was a senior managing director on its infrastructure advisory team. He has also held senior infrastructure finance positions at RBC Capital Markets, CIT Group and Schroders. David holds a BA from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from INSEAD.

Peterson said:

"I am excited to join a team with such outstanding leadership and talent. CPF has a unique business model that delivers compelling value to consumers, installers and investors. I look forward to contributing to its further success."

CPF connects solar professionals with institutional investors through the CPF Market, the online platform for residential solar financing. CPF also provides the solar industry with CPF Tools®, a solar sales software application. Solar professionals use the CPF Market to access a variety of unbranded, third-party owned finance products. Investors and lenders use it to invest in solar assets that provide reliable rates of return with managed risk. Founded in 2006, CPF manages more than half a billion dollars of project financing on behalf of project investors that include major corporations, electric power companies and financial institutions.
