The Chicago Infrastructure Trust, in coordination with the City of Chicago and the City’s Department of Fleet and Facility Management (2FM),has announced the release of the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Joint Public Safety Training Academy (JPSTA) Project.
This project will consolidate and replace various Chicago Police Department (CPD) and Chicago Fire Department (CFD) training facilities located throughout the City, and provide new indoor and outdoor scenario-based training spaces.
This RFQ represents the first part of a process that will ultimately select the developer who will design, build, and provide financing for the comprehensive training academy campus at 4301 W. Chicago Avenue.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel. said:
“Our first responders deserve the best training to take on the challenges they face every day, and they deserve best facility to learn and practice in. Chicago’s new Public Safety Training Academy will provide much needed overhaul to the over 40-year-old training facilities currently used, and allow police officers, fire fighters and paramedics to receive training based on the nation’s best practices.”
The deadline for submitting the RFQ documents is no later than 4:00 p.m. CST on November 20, 2017.
