China's CRCC looks for partners for Brazilian railway concessions

According to the local press, the Brazilian Ministry of Transport said on Monday that the Chinese firm, China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), is interested in the railroad concession program to be tendered in Brazil and is looking for a Brazilian partner to form a consortium.

The local press reports that the coordinator for South America of CRCC, Deng Hongling, paid a visit on Monday to Transport minister, César Borges, and showed interest in bidding for the projects.

The first tender, the railway stretch between Açailândia (MA) and Barcarena (PA) is scheduled for October,

According to the Ministry of Transport, the Chinese representative emphasized how attractive the Brazilian model is due to the fact that the state company Valec will purchase 100 % of the load capacity from the concessions.
