China Railway Construction team wins Beijing airport PPP project
The consortium led by China Railway Construction Corp has won the contract to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain a railway track for the new Beiing airport. The contract will be delivered under the PPP model.
Other components of the consortium include Beijing MTR Construction Administration Corp, Beijing Urban Construction Group Ltd and Beijing Municipal Construction Co Ltd.
According to sources, the total project investment stands at about CNY 15 billion (US$2.2 billion) of which the 35%, will be the project capital investment. The railway project construction is scheduled to take around 35 months.
Beijing is already developing the first phase of a second airport in order to meet the increasing demand of air trafic. It is planed to serve around 100 million passengers annually upon the completion of the next two phases.

PSA invests in China’s largest inland railway container terminal network
PSA International has invested in China United International Rail Containers Co., Limited (CUIRC), a Sino-Foreign joint venture with a mandate from the government of the People’s Republic of China to develop and operate 18 railway container terminals within the country.The investment makes PSA the only global terminal operator with shareholding in CUIRC currently, and is carried out through the acquisition of Hong Kong-based Luck Glory International Limited, which owns 15.33% stake in CUIRC.
