Chile releases tender for fiber optic concession

The Government of Chile has launched the tender process for the Fibra Optica Austral telecom PPP project, which aims to implement a core fiber optic network linking the Chilean regions of Los Lagos, Aysen and Magallanes. 

The project comprises the development of a fiber optic network that will consist of an undersea layout and three terrestrials fiber optic lines.

Additionally, it will incorporate new high-capacity services, access and applications for users.

The total budget for the project is CLP62.3 billion (US$92.8 million)

Private developers interested in the project must submit their proposals within 74 days following the release of the tender documents which was on July 5.
