The Ministry of Public Works of Chile has announced the call for bids for the concession of the Route 5 section Chacao-Chonchi on the island of Chiloe. The call for bids was published in the Official Gazette.
The project will include the expansion of a 126-kilometers road to a double carriageway from the southern access of the Chacao Bridge until the north access to Chonchi, as well as the operation and maintenance of this road during the concession period, including around 16 km of road with a bi-directional road profile, corresponding to the Castro bypass.

The reception of technical and economic bids for the concession is scheduled for November 26, 2021, while the economic opening would take place on December 30, 2021.
