Chidambaranar Port signs concession agreement with Transstroy for PPP project

On 17 April 2013, the Chidambaramar Port has signed a concession agreement with Transstroy - OJSC Consortium to develop a north cargo Berth-IV and for construction of a shallow draught berth to handle cement and related raw material.

The agreement signed would be to implement the projects through PPP mode on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer.

The Port has accepted the highest Gross Revenue share of 30 per cent offered by Transstroy for developing the north cargo berth IV and 22 per cent for project construction of Shallow Draught berth offered by the Hyderabad based company.

The terms of the concession is  30 years. The estimated project cost to develop North Cargo Berth-IV is Rs 355 crore (US$65 million) and Shallow draught Berth Rs 84.08 crore (US$15 million).

The scheduled date of completion for the projects is 24 months from the date of award of concession.
