The CCR Group, through the company it controls CCR Via Costeira, and the State of Santa Catarina in Brazil have signed BR-101/SC road concession. Over the next 30 years, the project will require investments of approximately BRL 7 billion (USD 1.3 billion) in highway maintenance, operation, and monitoring.
The project includes the development of 220.4 km long BR-101/SC road connecting Paulo Lopes to São João do Sul in the state of Santa Catarina. The concession starts in the south of the municipality of Palhoça / SC (Rio Madre), at the point where the Autopista Litoral Sul concession ends. The end of the section is about 10 km from Divisa SC / RS, in the municipality of São João do Sul / SC. The highway will have four toll plazas distributed on the stretch. In total, the road corridor will cross 17 municipalities in Santa Catarina.
This is the first project CCR Group has won in the state of Santa Catarina. The project highway is the main connection with the State of Rio Grande do Sul, and it is integrated with the highway section already operated by CCR ViaSul.
The concession presents some innovations, such as the use of solar panels and the installation of new lighting throughout the section of the road. In addition, 18 pedestrian bridges, 42 new returns, improvements and expansion of 31 accesses and 25 new bus stops will be built along the stretch. With six operating bases, the concessionaire will also have rescue teams in mobile ICUs, in addition to other service teams, such as cranes.
