Capita has appointed Manoj Gupta as technical director of transportation

Capita has appointed Manoj Gupta as technical director of transportation Manoj, who has over 20 years civil engineering experience across the UK, Australia and Asia, joins the company from URS Australia where he was a transport and infrastructure (structures) director overseeing major schemes such as the Newcastle Heavy Rail Truncation for Transport for New South Wales;  the Great Western Highway upgrade; Richmond Road upgrade; Darwin East Arm Wharf Port Remediation Project; and the North West Rail Link.

Prior to this he worked for consultants Aurecon in Australia as well as various other UK companies where he held senior leadership positions and led multidisciplinary teams on various major transport and infrastructures projects. Manoj has also been instrumental in providing strategic bid direction to realise major transport sector opportunities and improve business management systems for better delivery processes.

Some of Manoj's noteworthy projects include: Glenfield Junction Upgrade Project; London Underground, TV4T West Coast Main Line, Evergreen 3 Chiltern Railways, Edinburgh Glasgow Electrification Works (GRIP3 and 4), East London Line, Edinburgh Haymarket interchange, Kirkintilloch Link Road, D&B Dalkeith Bypass, Edinburgh Tram, Glasgow Kilmarnock Line Upgrade and Glasgow Airport Rail Link.

Meanwhile, Elliot Patsanza has joined Capita as director of rail in the company's commercial and cost management team.

Elliot joins the company from Network Rail's £1.5bn Great Western Electrification Project (GWEP) where he was senior commercial manager.

Elliot, who has over 20 years' experience as a quantity surveyor, has worked on numerous  rail and civil projects including Crossrail; London Underground's station renewal programme; Network Rail's platform extension programme on the East Coast mainline; the step free access programme for Finsbury Park, Camden and Gospel Oak stations; the £200M LUL Track Alliance track renewal programme; the £40m Hatfield Tunnel refurbishment project; the LUL station refurbishment programmes for Warren Street, Great Portland, Brixton and White City station developments; and numerous high value real estate developments in London.
