Canada may use PPP model for border crossings

Canada Border Services Agency is mulling the use of the public private partnership (PPP) model to carry out the redevelopment os several of its border crossing.

The project would involve the upgrade, operation and maintenance of approximately 71 of the country's border crossing during a 30 year concession period. The project would also include the redevelopment of several housing units associated.

Canada Border Services Agency has currently launched a request for proposals (RFP) to hire an an Advocate Architect (AA) to provide various architectural and engineering services in support of the P3 model for the project.

The agency has already received proposals and it plans to award the five-year architectural services contract in June this year.
