The Cafasso Consortium led by Denys NV, Macquarie Capital and Vialia Sociedad Gestora de Concesiones de infraestructuras SL (GlobalVia) has been selected for the construction of the Haren prison PPP project in Belgium.
The selected partner will manage a DBFM (Design, Build, Finance, Maintain) contract that will last 25 years.
Other members of the consortium include: FCC Construcción SA, AAFM Facility Management bv (Aracadis Aqumen Facility Management BV), Buro II & ARCHI+I, E G M architecten, Ingenieursbureau G. Dervaux, Marcq & Roba, Ares and M.O.O.Con.
BVBA and TYPSA have been advisors to the consortium.
The prison will offer space for 1,190 inmates and will include three male prisons, two female prisons, a psychiatric center and an institute for young people. It will be the biggest prison in Belgium and it will go into operation in 2016. The new prison will substitute the prisons currently located in Saint-Gilles, Vorst and Berkendael.
