Brookfield Infrastructure appoints new CFO Bihar Manios-80Brookfield Infrastructure announced in late September the appointment of Bahir Manios as Chief Financial Officer of Brookfield Infrastructure. Bahir succeeds John Stinebaugh, who will be taking on another role at Brookfield.Manios joined Brookfield in 2004 and has held a several senior finance roles within the organization.Sam Pollock, Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Infrastructure, said:

"John has demonstrated exceptional financial leadership since the spin-off of Brookfield Infrastructure in 2008 and has played a key role in growing the business. We know that John will continue to be a significant contributor to the success of Brookfield. For the last six years, Bahir Manios has been responsible for the finance and treasury functions for Brookfield's infrastructure group and is well known to many of our investors. He joined Brookfield in 2004 and has held a number of senior finance roles within the organization. We look forward to Bahir playing a strong leadership role in the financial management of the Partnership, as we continue to execute our growth strategy."

Few months ago Brookfield Infrastructure had restructured its Board of Directors, with the appointment of three new directors.

Brookfield Infrastructure is nearing the final close of its second infrastructure fund and is set to raise up to $7 billion. The fund would the second biggest fund ever raised after the $8.25 billion Global Infrastructure Partners II. Brookfield Infrastructure Fund II held a first close in July on about $6.2 billion, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

In September, Brookfield Infrastructure increased its investment in the company they manage together with Abertis that operates and manages highways in Brazil.
