Brazillian Distrito Federal studies social housing PPP project

The Distrito Federal is analyzing the possibility to tender its second public-private partnership (PPP) contract involving the implementation of social housing units.

The technical commission in charge of approving the structure of the deal has a period of 45 days to submit its final report.

Feasibility studies were received via Request for Expression of Interest (PMI). In March 2013, the Distrito Federal authorized the following companies for the preparation of the Feasibility studies:

  • Bairro Novo Empreendimentos Imobiliário S.A.;
  • Capital Construtora;
  • Direcional Engenharia S.A.;
  • GCE S.A.;
  • Múltipla Engenharia Ltda.;
  • Rossi Residencial S.A.;
  • Silco Engenharia;
  • Termoeste S.A. Construções e Instalações; and
  • Via Engenharia S.A..

The project will be the second social housing PPP contract in Distrito Federal.

The first project, called Jardins Mangueiral, was signed in March 2009. It involves the deployment and management of 9,502 housing units.
