The Federal Government of Brazil has signed a concession contract with the CCR Group for the Presidente Dutra highway (BR-116/RJ/SP) and Rio-Santos highway (BR-101/RJ/SP) projects. The concessionaire will invest BRL14.8 billion (US$2.93 billion) in the two highways during the 30-year concession period, and approximately BRL10.8 billion (US$2.14 billion) will also be allocated to operational services.
Presidente Dutra concession involves the development of 591 km of additional lanes and the duplication of 80 km, in addition to 535 bus stops and almost 3 km of tunnels. CCR will provide monitoring through automatic cameras for incident identification, wi-fi, and LED lighting.
BR-101 concession involves the development of 203 kilometers of 3rd and 4th lanes, 26 kilometers of additional lanes for overtaking and 80 kilometers of duplication between the city of Rio de Janeiro and Angra dos Reis.
