The health department of the state of Rondônia has launched a public consultation for its first public-private partnership tender, a concession to operate the 309-bed state emergency hospital HEURO.
Rondônia is a state in Brazil, located in the north-western part of the country.
The project cost is estimated at R$66.8 million (US$27.7 million). The contract involves the acquisition and installation of medical equipment, appliances, fixtures and furnishings, followed by the management and operation of the hospital for 15 years.
The project was structured in 2012 through an expression of interest (PMI) by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Consultores and SM Assessoria Empresarial e Gestão Hospitalar.
The period of public consultation started on January 28, 2014 and will end on March 4, 2014. Suggestions and comments can be submitted to the PPP Unit (Gerência do Programa de Parcerias Público-Privadas - GPPPP).
The winning bidder will be the one asking for the lowest monthly concession payment from the state. A ceiling price of R$13.8 million (US$5.7 million) has been set.
