The Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, through Sanesul, has hired four Brazilian companies to carry out the feasibility studies for the Mato Grosso do Sul sewerage PPP project.
According to a state government release, the companies involved are, namely, Aegea Saneamento e Participações, Andrade Gutierrez Concessões, Infra Engenharia e Consultoria, and Telar Engenharia e Comércio. Consultants.
The 30-year concession project is is part of the state's 10-year plan to reach universal sewerage services. This plan represents a reduction of 35 years from the previous plan, which established a period of 45 years to reach the same objective. The project will have a total estimated investment of BRL3.9 billion (US$1.2 billlion).
Sanesul is the state-owned company, which is engaged in the operation of water supply systems in Mato Grosso du Sol, covering 125 localities, 68 municipalities and 57 districts. The firm has 20 water treatment plants, 357 active wells and 35 water treatment stations.
