The municipality of Jaboatão dos Guararapes in Pernambuco, Brazil has launched public consultation for the street light concession in the city. National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) is supporting the authority for its modernization plan for the municipal public lighting network.
Under the concession, 47,000 light points in the city will be replaced with LED lamps improving the quality of life of 700,000 inhabitants. The project also provides provision of scenic lighting at 17 historical and touristic points as well as special lighting at more than 150 places such as squares, parks, fields and courts.
The estimated investment value for the project is BRL281 million (US$50.12 million) with a concession period of 22 years. The public consultation for the project is open until December 23, 2021.
