Bilfinger has sold its shares of 40 percent and 45 percent respectively in the privately financed motorway projects M6 Duna and M6 Tolna in Hungary.
The buyer is a consortium consisting of Aberdeen Asset Management, Intertoll and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The transaction was completed on December 22, 2015.
Proceeds from the sale for Bilfinger are in the magnitude of the present carrying amount of €50 million (US$74.3 million) and the sum will flow to the company in the current year.
Bilfinger decided to sell its Concessions portfolio in 2013. With the sale of the last two major projects, the company has now completed this process.
The M6 Tolna concession included the design, construction, financing, operation, refurbishment and maintenance of the M6 motorway between Dunaújváros and Szekszárd (ch 76+200 km – ch 141+300 km) and its Ancillary Facilities.
The M6 Duna concession included the design, construction, financing, operation, refurbishment and maintenance of the M6 motorway from Érdi-tetõ to Dunaújváros plus a section of the M8 motorway that leads from the M6 to the new Danube bridge which is built south of Dunaújváros.
