Barbacena starts public consultation of street lighting PPP

The Municipality of Barbacena in Minas Gerais (Brazil), has launched a public consultation for a street lighting public private partnership (PPP) project.

The PPP contract involves the modernization, expansion, operation and maintenance of the city's public lighting network.

The concession will be for a period of 30 years. It has a value of approximately R$255 million (US$65.76 million).

The project's feasibility study was carried out by Tree Partners Investimentos e Participações.

Barbacena has approximately 134,000 inhabitants in a total area of 788 km2. It is located on the BR-040 highway which links Brasília to Rio de Janeiro.

Interested parties must submit their reviews, comments and questions regarding the tender process and the concession on or before July 14.
