The Government of Bangladesh has launched a tender process for the development of an economic zone at Mongla, Khulna through a PPP  project.

The project will be located on a land area of 267 acres (approx), adjacent to Mongla export processing zone and in proximity to Mongla Port, under Khulna division, southwest region of Bangladesh.

The project will be developed on a design, build, finance, own, operate and transfer (DBFOOT) basis. The contract period will be 30 years.

The selected developer must have at least three years' experience in establishing and operation of sole, multi-product economic zone, specialeconomic zones, industrial park or free port.

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 9 December 2014.

The Government of Bangladesh recently announced the imminent tender process of two more projects:

• Dhaka bypass, which involves the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the approximately 23 km elevated expressway.
• Supply, Installation and Commissioning of a Multi Mode Surveillance System at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport , Dhaka.
