The Mexican State of Baja California has launched the tender process for a hospital PPP project to be located in Tijuana, the largest city in Baja California.
The project involves the development of the new Tijuana Maternity Hospital under a design, build, finance, operate and maintain (DBFOM) contract with a duration of the concession period of 14 years.
The preferred bidder will provide the facility management services and other clinical and non-clinical support services.
The deadline for submitting the proposals is on or before October 12, 15:00 (local hour).

The project is scheduled to be awarded in December and it is expected to start construction works in July 2017.
Recently, we reported that another PPP hospital had been awarded. The Mexican Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSTE) awarded the contract for the development of the New Hospital Clinic in Mérida, Yucatán State, through a PPP project, to Constructora y Edificadora GIA+A.
Last year, IMSS, the Mexican Social Security Institute, announced plans to develop a total of seven hospitals through the public private partnership (PPP) model.The projects would need federal funding of approximately P8.8 billion (US$518.7 million).
