
Yesterday, it was the last day for the submission of bids for four NHAI road projects in India. According to
Business Standard, a senior Road Transport Ministry official has commented about the results of the four bids:
- Awarded to: GMR Infrastructure
- Annuity: NHAI will receive Rs 636 crore ($14 million) premium per annum
- Investment: Rs 5,387 crore ($1,212 million)
- Length: 555 Km
Note: This is the single-biggest highway project so far in the country, both in terms of value and length. Remember that the first mega road project was awarded to IRB Infrastructure. Four Laning of Orissa Border - Aurang section from Km 88/000 to Km 239/000 of NH-6 in the State of Chhattisgarh - Awarded to: BSCPL Infrastructure
- Annuity: NHAI will receive Rs 29 crore ($6.5 million) premium per annum
- Investment: Rs 1,232 crore ($277 million)
- Length: 141 Km
Four laning of Hospet-Bellary- Karnataka/Andhra Pradesh Border Section of NH-63 (from Km. 280.300 to Km 375.740) in the State of Karnataka
Four laning of Jabalpur-Rewa section on NH-7 from KM 242+300 to KM 465+500 (including Katni bypass) in the state of Madhya Pradesh
- Awarded to: Soma Tollways
- Annuity: the viability gap funding (VGF) was reduced to 18 % from the envisaged 48 %.
- Investment: Rs 1,895 crore ($426 million)
- Length: 223.2 Km
