Austria publishes PIN for education campus PPP

The City Administration of Viena in Austria has published a prior information notice (PIN) for the development of the New Campus Berregasse through the PPP model.

The project involves the development of a new school on an area located in Berresgasse, 1220 Viena. The preferred bidder will be responsible for the design, construction, finance and maintenance of the new facilities during the concession period.

In late 2015 The City of Vienna awarded a contract to advise on the procurement of school and kindergarten campuses in the City of Vienna under PPP schemes.

The programme involves the construction of 10 educational facilities in the period 2012-2023 by way of the Vienna "Campus plus" concept, implementing a modern state-of-the-art pedagogical concept. The individual projects will be procured under design, build, finance, operate and maintain (DBFOM) PPP contracts.

Vienna, with a population of about 1.757 million (2.4 million within the metropolitan area), is the capital and the largest city of Austria. It is the 7th-largest city by population within city limits in the European Union.
