AustralianSuper to increase size of infrastructure team

AustralianSuper is looking to increase the size of its infrastructure team through the establishment of a number of new roles.

AustralianSuper is one of Australia's largest superannuation/pension funds, with over 2 million members and over A$92 billion in assets. The fund is committed to the recruitment, development and support of a top performing and diverse workforce.

The new roles will  assist in managing the fund's infrastructure portfolio, further building out the capacity of the already established team. They will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure and other senior leaders to originate new investment opportunities, participate in large infrastructure transactions and then assist in managing the assets within the portfolio.

Specifically, the new roles are the following:

  • Senior Investment Manager, who will lead the new PPP investment activities within the AustralianSuper Infrastructure Portfolio. This means leading the implementation of its PPP strategy for new PPP opportunities and the subsequent management of such investments.
  • Investment Manager, who will coordinate the fund's portfolio management and analysis activities on current investments in the portfolio including specific responsibility for managing its indirect fund investments, and supporting the direct investment activities within the Infrastructure Portfolio.
  • Analysts/Senior Analysts, who will provide analytical support to the Infrastructure portfolio team in fulfilling their functions of portfolio management and execution of new investment opportunities across some or all of the infrastructure equity, subordinated debt and public private partnership sub-sectors.
