Atlantia acquires A12 highway concession in Italy

Atlantia, through its 100% owned subsidiary Autostrade per l'Italia, has completed the acquisition of a 74.95% stake in the Italian Autostrada Tirrenica (SAT).

SAT holds the concession for the A12 Livorno - Civitavecchia motorway, of which the Livorno - Rosignano section of around 40 km is in operation, whilst work on the Civitavecchia - Tarquinia section of approximately 15 km is at an advanced stage.

Autostrade per l'Italia already owned 24.98% of the company. The transaction raises the group's total interest in SAT to 99.93%, resulting in the company's line-by-line consolidation in the Group's accounts.

The cost of the transaction is approximately €84 million (US$95 million).

Autostrade per l'Italia is Italy's largest toll motorway builder and operator. In Italy approximately 4 million people, equal to 8% of the population, use the network managed by Atlantia's motorway subsidiaries every day. The network has a total length of  about 3,200 km and is designed to bring Italy closer to the socio-economic heart of Europe.
