Argo Infrastructure Partners , an independent infrastructure investment manager, has announced both its formation and 1st close with capital commitments of over $500 million.
Argo's initial strategy focuses on low risk investments in the energy infrastructure sector in Canada and the U.S., including midstream, utilities and contracted power assets. Argo, together with its investor partners, has developed a new infrastructure partnership model, specifically designed in conjunction with and to meet the needs of large institutional investors.
The Argo team comprises experienced infrastructure professionals led by Founding Partner Jason Zibarras, most recently the Chief Investment Officer of J.P. Morgan's Global Infrastructure Investments Fund.
Argo has attracted commitments from significant institutional investors, including the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS). In addition, Argo has received a strategic investment from Crow Holdings , the Dallas-based investment office controlled by descendants of Margaret and Trammell Crow.
Jason Zibarras stated:
"We are pleased to have received support from a pre-eminent group of anchor investors. The partnership we have established with our investors is an excellent example of Argo's mission to bring together investors who have a shared vision for this new approach to investing in infrastructure."
