Two months after launching the new PPP law, the Government of Argentina will undertake the first contract through public-private partnership involving a housing project.
The housing project under the Procrear program, involves the construction of urban development projects throughout the country the development of housing projects in Rosario, Bariloche, Paraná and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The intention is to build about 1490 units in those localities.
The government will contribute land for the developments and 40% of the cost. The sponsor will contribute the remaining 60%.
According to sources, the government is to launch tenders for an urban complex of 170 units in Bariloche, Rio Negro, another another 300 units in Paraná, Entre Ríos, and a third complex in the City of Buenos Aires, in the neighborhood of Barracas, with 520 units.
This housing project has been declared of "National Interest" for the country.
IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, and the IFC Global Infrastructure Fund (GIF), a fund managed by the IFC Asset Management Company (AMC), have invested a combined US$100 million in Orazul Energy Partners LLC, an affiliate of Orazul Energy Holdings LLC, an energy platform in Latin America owned by I Squared Capital.
