Arcus Infrastructure Partners secures £500m for infrastructure investment in Europe

Arcus Infrastructure Partners announced in late November it has secured £500 million of capital for long-term investments in European infrastructure opportunities. Arcus is an independent infrastructure asset management business, with an investment team of 25 professionals, who have been responsible for originating, executing and managing over 50 transactions with EV in excess of €25 billion.

Arcus has secured the capital from existing investors in its first fund, Arcus European Infrastructure Fund 1. Arcus will continue to focus on investment in core European infrastructure in sectors such as energy, water, telecoms, ports, airports and roads. Arcus is looking to take significant or controlling positions, and will favour investments in the range of €300 - 500 million. Arcus will continue to take an active approach to asset management and, where appropriate, look to lead the strategic and operational development of the investments.

Arcus European Infrastructure Fund 1 is an unlisted fund with over €2 billion of commitments backed by over 40 institutional investors from around the world. The Fund invests in high quality infrastructure assets throughout the European area.

Arcus was founded in July 2009 from a management buyout of part of Babcock & Brown's European infrastructure business, led by Toto Lo Bianco and Simon Gray. Arcus is an independent business owned by its partners.
