The Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT) of Brazil initiated on February 27th, 2103 the procedure of public consultation for the tender documents and Feasibility studies for the
Railroad concession between Açailândia in the state of Maranhão and the Port of Vila do Conde, in the state of Pará.This project is framed within Investment Program in Logistics, published by the Brazillian Federal Government in August 2012. The project involves 477 km of railways, with an estimated investment of about R$ 3 billion (US$1.46 billion).The contributions for the public consultation can be sent before April 1st 2013. The ANTT will hold also public meetings to present the business model in the cities of Belém and Brasília on 14 and 26 May 2013, respectively.The term of the concession is 35 years and Valec Engineering, Construction and Rail SA (VALEC) will be the contracting party.See tender documents:
