Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced the signature of commitments to develop two road project in the region of La Guajira, Colombia.
The ANI, the National Road Institute (Invías) and the Government of La Guajira signed a contract to improve and maintain 173 km of two roads:
The ANI will develop the road projects following the PPP model and will look into hiring PPP advisors for the projects in the next months.
Luis Fernando Andrade, president of the National Infrastructure Agency, added:
"Our task is to find the arrangers, do the review, analysis, monitoring and evaluation of the structure to determine the feasibility of the projects Public-Private Partnership. We also need to identify the different sources of funding that can be linked to the development of these road projects, and as a result of the activities of structuring, drafting the concession contract."
The concessionaire of the Cartagena-Barranquilla and Prosperidad bypass project issued bonds with a value of US$263 million. Goldman Sachs acted as bond arranger in the transaction. The total project financing raised now stands at US$499 million.
