The Colombian Agencia Nacional de Infraestructuras (ANI) announced on 12 July 2013 that it plans to issue a prequalification call for a total of 4 airport projects on July 2013.

The strategy is to launch two Public private partnership tenders for the design, construction and maintenance of the airports:

1. Tender 1: Barranquilla International Airport
2. Tender 2: Airports of Armenia, Popoayán and Neiva

The estimated investment will be P$200.000 million (US$105 million) each tender.

According to ANI's President, Luis Fernando Andrade, the tender processes will be launched on July 31st and start in September 2013. He also said that the airports are likely to be awarded before the award of the road concessions.
