Angel Muriel appointed CFO of CIMIC

CIMIC Group, an international contractor, has announced the appointment of Angel Muriel as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Mr Muriel, who succeeds Javier Loizaga, is CIMIC's Chief Development Officer and the Managing Director of Pacific Partnerships.

He was formerly the Head of Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions at Hochtief Aktiengesellschaft and, prior to that, he was the CFO of Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras, S.A. Mr Muriel has also held roles as the CFO of ACS Infrastructure in North America and Iridium in Chile.

CIMIC Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Marcelino Fernández Verdes said:

"Angel is an experienced international finance executive who has served as Chief Financial Officer of a number of businesses, including with Iridium, a world leading PPP developer. His experience in M&A transactions, financial management, and corporate transformations are of great value to CIMIC as we continue with our Strategic Review."

Mr Fernández Verdes said:

"I'm grateful to Javier for his leadership and outstanding contributions to our business during his time as Chief Financial Officer. Javier played a key role in building a cohesive, integrated finance team and driving valuable change to our systems and processes. We wish him all the best."

CIMIC provides construction, mining, engineering, concessions, and operation and maintenance services to the infrastructure, resources and property markets. It operates in more than 20 countries throughout the Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Southern Africa and employed approximately 25,000 people as at 30 June 2015.
