Almeria University tenders student accommodation concession

The University of Almeria, Spain, has launched a tender process to develop a university student accommodation project through a concession contract in Almeria city.

The project will be developed in the city center near the train station in an area of 2,183 m². The new facilities will offer accommodation for 400 students. The building will have 7 - 8 floors.

The project will be developed on a design, build, finance, operation and maintenance basis. The concession period is 40 years.

It is estimated that the total project investment will be about €9 million (US$11.6 million).

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 14 October this year.

Almería is a city in Andalusia, southeast of Spain, on the Mediterranean Sea.

Spain has several university concession projects in tender stage. On 1 September 2014 we reported that Cantabria University launched a tender process to develop a 200-room student housing project in Santander. In addition the University of Barcelona launched, in early August, a tender process to build, operate and maintain the first expansion of its Law College building.
