Allianz Global Investors appoints Renewable Energy Director

Allianz Global Investors has announced that Thomas Engelmann has been appointed as Director and Portfolio Manager in its Renewable Energy team, according to sources.

Allianz increases its renewable energy team as it expects to increase investments in this area. In July 2013, Allianz Capital Partners acquired two wind parks in France and one in Germany with a combined capacity of 100 Megawatts. In June 2013, Allianz Capital Partners announced the acquistion of the Maevaara wind farm in Sweden. Later, in August Allianz Capital Partners acquired three wind parks in France and Italy.

Mr. Engelmann will start his new role in October 2013 and he will be based in Munich.

Mr. Engelmann has a very extensive experience in the energy sector. He has worked during 18 years in the industry. Most recently, he worked as chief investment officer and portfolio manager for the infrastructure and renewable energy investment manager, KGAL. Previously, he worked in several management positions at Siemens and Siemens Financial Services.

KGAL is a German firm that offers investments in real assets such as aircraft, real estate and infrastructure.

    Bilfinger Berger advanced in divestment negotiations

    German engineering and services group Bilfinger Berger announced a positive development in its financial results of 2013 Q3. Bilfinger said output volume, orders received and order backlog had caught up with the prior-year levels by the end of September, while adjusted EBITA for the third quarter was higher than in the same period of last year.     BBGI announces acquisition of Bilfinger's concessions

    As announced, the engineering and services group Bilfinger Berger has divested its Concessions portfolio. A contract has been signed with Bilfinger Berger Global Infrastructure SICAV S.A. (BBGI), an infrastructure fund listed on the London Stock Exchange, for the takeover of the projects available for sale from Bilfinger. BBGI is planning a capital increase to finance the transaction. Already in the middle of this year, the two parties had agreed on BBGI's acquisition of two additional projects in Canada. The completion of this sale took place also last week. Read more

    CDC Infrastructure buys 7.5% of German offshore wind farm

    CDC Infrastructure announced today that it has acquired a stake in the Butendiek offshore wind farm. The stake was sold by the Marguerite Fund, which divested 33.3% of its 22.5% participation in Butendiek. Read more
