National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has successfully awarded Indian multinational Adani Enterprises a multimillion highway PPP project in the state of Kerala.
This project includes the development of a 40.80-km long six-lane highway connecting Azhiyur to Vengalam section of NH-17 in Kerala on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). The project is a part of Bharatmala Pariyojna.
Adani's bid for the development of the PPP project stood at INR 1,838 cr (US$251 million). The highway construction is expected to complete in two and a half years.
"AEL would continue to evaluate and bid for attractive opportunities in transport sector which generates value for the stakeholders. The Group would use its immense expertise and experience of setting up complex and mammoth infrastructure projects in record time and to world class quality standards and also successfully operating them," the company said.
With this project award, Adani Group will have total Six NHAI road projects under HAM in the states of Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala.
The NHAI has awarded TOT 3 bundle (566 Km in length) consisting of 9 toll plazas in the state of UP, Jharkhand, Bihar and Tamil Nadu under its ambitious Toll-Operate-Transfer (ToT) model to Cube Mobility Investment Pte. Ltd. (Cube Highways) and has received upfront consideration of Rs. 5,011 crore (USD 681.85 million).
