ACS promotes Juan Santamaria to CEO of Iridium Concesiones

Juan Santamaria, who has led during the last years ACS Group's P3 development efforts in the U.S., left ACS Infrastructure Development in Florida on January 1st,2014 to lead the company's global concessions arm, Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras, S.A. from Madrid.

Juan Santamaría will substitute Adolfo Valderas, who moved to Australia to be Chief Operation Officer (COO) of Leighton, the construction group controlled by ACS through its subsidiary, Hochtief.

Among other tasks, Mr. Santamaria will be responsible for the management of Iridium's assets portfolio, including the divestment of certain assets.

As part of his role, Adolfo Valderas will be responsible for the establishment of FundCo, a financing initiative to fund Leighton's participation in future public private partnerships.

Juan Santamaria has a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid. In 2009, he received the "Private Sector entrepreneur 2009" award from the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).

During his time as CEO and COO of ACS Infrastructure Development, the firm was granted several P3 contracts including the I-595 interstate expressway in Florida, the South Fraser Perimeter road in Vancouver and the Ottawa light rail.
