ACS acquires J.F. White Contracting through Dragados

Spanish group ACS, through its subsidiary Dragados Construccion USA, has acquired J.f. White Contracting, a multi-disciplined general contractor based in New England.

In 2013 the Boston-based construction firm J.f. White had revenues of US$257 million. The company, which is currently developing 50 projects, has US$350 million in pending projects.

The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

ACS reported:

This acquisition allows Dragados to enter the New England market and position itself as one of the leaders in civil engineering in the United States.

After this transaction Dragados Construccion USA has become one of the leaders firm in North America, with revenues of around US2 billion.

J.F. White Contracting Company is a heavy/civil contractor operating in both the public sector, and the private commercial/institutional markets. Specializing in complex infrastructure, advanced engineering techniques, alternate construction approaches, especially within difficult urban environments.

Representative projects include the Post Office Square Park and Garage, Harvard's Oxford St. Underground Garage, Central Artery's North St. to Chardon St. Tunnel Segment, numerous MBTA Station renewal projects, and Logan runways for MassPort and MassDOT I-93 FAST 14 Rapid Bridge Replacement project.

In April 2014, Dragados Group acquired Prince Contracting, LLC, a provider of construction services for civil construction and transportation projects in Florida and Georgia, from Grupo Soares da Costa. The transaction was valued at $18 million.

Since 2005, Dragados Construccion USA has experienced a steady and sustainable growth in project revenue as well as geographic expansion across the United States and Canada. A part of that growth has come through the acquisition of Schiavone Construction Co. LLC and John P. Picone, Inc., in New York, and Pulice Construction, Inc., in Arizona. Today, Dragados is active in New York, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico, California, New England and Washington State.
